Drivers More Inclined To Fiscal Issues Than Garage Mechanics

It has been reported that the cost of getting repairs of the vehicles is pinching the pockets of the motorists.

A research conducted by Insurance revealed that a significant number of drivers believe that they have been a victim of a corrupt car mechanic. According to the firm, 48 per cent of UK motorists think that they have been ripped off by such a professional. With 51 per cent of these motorists pointed out that they have paid up to 100 pounds more than is necessary for repair work.

Meanwhile, 34 per cent believe they paid more than 500 pounds over the amount which they feel they should have paid. Indeed financial crisis could be most keenly felt by the 12 per cent of those questioned who think they have been cheated by over 1,000 pounds. Overall, Britons believe that they are paying a total of eight billion pounds in unnecessary, low-quality or overpriced work to their vehicle.

The firm also revealed that 52 per cent of Britons are planning to prevent themselves from professional mechanics as they believe that they will be overcharged for repairs or servicing work to their car, with a third of respondents being concerned that their lack of knowledge in relation to motor vehicles will leave being exploited by fraud repairmen.

Due to paying such significant costs in getting their vehicle back on to the road it may be possible that drivers struggle to keep up with other kinds of financial commitment which may include areas such as credit and store cards, loans and household bills.
