Tescocompare Warns: Home Insurance Can Evade Disasters
Many schools are deciding to declare holidays this weekend; parents may find it difficult as it could disrupt their budget.
According to Tescocompare if children are going to spend their next six weeks at home then the level of damage they cause to possessions and property is likely to increase. As per Mr Bump study released by the price comparison site, British children and teenager are responsible for the more than one million domestic accidents every year.
According to the firm’s research the young children who are yet to reach their teenage years tend to cause 229 million pounds that is 42% damage or household accidents every year. Meanwhile, teenagers were responsible for the 21% accidents in the home. Although this is a much lower ratio than younger children, teenagers still causes annual damage of 68 million pounds.
However, despite all this, many parents didn’t bother to take out home insurance as pointed by the firm.
Those people who didn’t have the benefit of home insurance may find it difficult to pay the damages from their own pocket. To pay the sudden incurred expenses might create imbalance in your budget to meet other demands like credit card bills, loans repayment etc.
Paul Baxter of Tescocompare said: “Accidents do happen but it’s very difficult to meet the damage amount suddenly as it hurts the pocket of the homeowners. What is worrying is that 41% of the homeowners are unable to recover the amount of accidents in the home.”
