Winter Sun Holiday Emigration Discloses By Abbey

According to a new study, a significant number of people are determined on evading to a warmer climate, due to underwhelming temperatures and consistently grey skies being the prevalent themes for a second British summer in a row.

In a recent study conducted by Abbey Credit Cards, it was revealed that about 34 per cent people are scheduling on going on a foreign holiday over the course of this autumn and winter in a bid for some sunshine. As such, it was pointed out that 15 million consumers are planning to go abroad.

Abbey reveals that despite of the “tentative economic climate”, Britons are planning to spend a significant amount of money on such a holiday with a typical cost of 546 pounds per person. However, it emerges that older customers are set to pay out a high amount of cash on their holiday, with a quarter of those between the ages of 55 and 64 are planning to pay out more than 1,000 pounds on their vacation. In addition, these people were exposed to account for some 44 per cent of all those going on a winter break.

According to a research from the financial services firm, Western Europe which includes locations such as the Canary Islands and southern parts of Spain is the extremely popular destination for those looking forward to winter sun holiday. It was revealed that an estimated 7.8 million Britons are planning to go to this part of the world. Meanwhile, some 740,000 people are prepare to go abroad this winter - are to jet off to Latin America, with 718,000 consumers wanting to go to Africa. It was also showed that 556,000 holidaymakers set to go to the Middle East.

Callum Gibson, head of Abbey Credit Cards revealed that “Many Britons are clearly in need of evading our gloomy weather and heading overseas. If you are heading abroad this winter then it can be fruitful to apply for a personal loan so that you can make your money work harder.”

He went on to report that following the failure of numerous travel agents and tour operators in recent weeks, thousands of British holidaymakers “have had to bear the strain of cancelled trips”, which in turn has made the need for monetary shield evermore important.
